The primary purpose of the Human Resources Generalist is to support work within the Human Resources Compensation area for System office and colleges to support the mission and operations of KCTCS.

This is a defined-term contract position renewable each fiscal year and located in Versailles, KY.

This position offers the ability to work REMOTE if desired with a requirement to be onsite a minimum of 2 days per week.

  • Perform duties within HRIS (PeopleSoft) to support the compensation/employment function (includes setting up jobs, positions numbers, testing, and corrections)
  • Evaluate new positions and reclassification requests for System Office and colleges. Recommend title, band, FLSA status and IPEDS code.
  • Provide analysis of salary equity checks for new hires, promotions and reclassifications for System Office and colleges including analysis of salary exceptions.
  • Provide analysis and general support to departments in regard to compensation requests (Open Records, DOL investigations, FLSA, IPEDS)
  • Research and complete internal and external salary survey requests.
  • Additional duties as assigned within the HR Generalist function (Comp/HRIS/Employment)


The successful candidate will have demonstrated experience working in Human Resources Compensation.


Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Human Resources or related field and two (2) years of experience or equivalent.

Expertise using Microsoft Excel is strongly preferred.

Equivalency is defined as:

  • High School Diploma and six (6) years of relevant experience.
  • Associate’s Degree and four (4) years of relevant experience.
  • Bachelor’s Degree and two (2) years of relevant experience.
  • Master’s Degree and zero (0) years of relevant experience.


KY law requires state and national pre-employment background checks as a condition of employment.
